My trip home from Germany deserves its own post, because it was HIGHLY eventful

It started at 7 am at the Dortmund airport where I was pulled aside to have my hands, clothes & bags swabbed for signs of explosives

I have never felt more titillated. I know I didn’t look guilty of anything so I could only conclude that I looked so innocent and radiated so much calm that it was highly suspicious first thing in the morning at the Dortmund airport. I walked away from security chuckling. πŸ€

Next thing I know, as we were waiting to board the plane, 3 cops wheel out a man strapped to a chair in handcuffs, with a Hannibal Lecter style mask on his face, and load him into the plane before us. πŸ‘€πŸ˜³

The girls in front of me backed away from the door saying “Nein, nein, nein” (“No, no, no” in German) When we boarded, they had cordoned off the last three rows so that no one could sit close to them. Most of the passengers were highly alarmed by this.

Anyway, we made it to Heathrow with no one being k1lled luckily. Great sign! Onward!

BUT disaster was waiting just around the corner.

Being that I would be traveling for 24 hrs, and still needed to drive home, (and didn’t have access to any sleep aids) I decided to have a few drinks to help me get some sleep. Worst. Decision. Ever. After the third (or maybe fourth or possibly fifth?), I started to feel incredibly nauseous. I got up to go to the restroom, and I could barely stand.

I stumbled down the walkway, and swayed at the way-station - trying to catch my balance without blacking out. I thought I was going to faint! I made it to the bathroom just in time and waited until I stabilized, which may have been 10 mins or 45 mins - I had no concept of time passing.

And then suddenly, it passed, I felt better, made it back to my seat and fell asleep for a couple of hours.

I feel it’s important to share stories like this because international jet-setting is always inlaid with huge doses of reality.

The more reality we can build into our expectations of experiences, the more likely our unconscious mind is to support us in creating them. Which is what I want from you.

Moral of the story: There is no future vision that you can get to where you will be able to escape the realities of the human experience.

Embrace it instead and include in your dreaming.

Second moral: Don’t drink to try to get sleep on a plane and be prepared for anything πŸ˜…πŸ˜©
